Every week of this "Angels Among Us" series, someone has come up and told me a story of an angel in their life. They are stories of ordinary encounters and spectacular interventions, clear content or ambiguous interpretation–some are recognized at the time as divine interactions and others are recognized only in hindsight. What is fascinating is that many are momentary glimpses of grace and assurance provided by strangers, who are never seen again.
The book by Susan Robb, The Angels of Christmas: Hearing God's Voice in Advent has several such stories. The fleeting nature of these encounters makes me want to pay attention in new ways--to be open to such brushes with angel wings. Because, for many, it happens not in spectacular form with a guy in a white suit and feathers intervening in the day, it's much subtler. And whether you call these moments of grace or angelic sightings matters not. What matters is how we respond. How do these encounters encourage us to act with more hope, more peace, more joy and love? How do they call us to be the messengers of reassurance and courage for others?

Congratulations to Jennifer Cardin-Smith and Wilbert Horne who were married this past Saturday here at MSUMC (12/3/2022). Jennifer looked stunning in her wedding dress and the beautiful couple even included their faithful furry friends as part of their yummy wedding cake! The couple invited family and friends to a reception at Nashua Country Club following the ceremony and plan on taking a honeymoon later this winter.

JANUARY 19, 2023 (NEW DATE) NEXT PLANNING BOARD HEARING
Pastor Kristy and Nancy Long have continued to attend visibility events coordinated by GSOP to educate the community about the asphalt plant proposal for Temple Street. This plant will be harmful to the many neighbors near the site, who will be subjected to pollution, noise, and a significant increase in asphalt truck traffic on pedestrian routes. The Planning Board hearing has been tabled until January 19th (new date) to allow the environmental impact study to be completed.
We would appreciate those who are willing to write letters to the planning board to please do so at email@example.com. If you are willing to speak against the plant at the Jan 19th meeting (at this time both zoom and in person are available), please reach out to Pastor Kristy for more information on how to do so and what criteria are most important to the Planning Board.
Class is back in session! Join Pastor Kristy and Paul Pederzani for the new "Mary Had a Baby" study.
Online and in-person. Books will be provided for all those attending in-person. Reach out to Pastor Kristy if you plan on attending remotely and would like a book.
