November has lots going on at the church and in the denomination.
The month begins with Bishop Bickerton's installation in Sudbury and the Ham & Bean Suppah in the Vestry. Then we have our All Saints service (always a favorite) followed by the Church Charge Conference with the DS and the Crop Walk in the afternoon. We have the annual Fall/Holiday Fair. The baptism of baby Mara and receiving of three new members on the 10th. We have Green Team celebration dinner of the Pollinator Garden project, Consecration Sunday, Nov 17 (blessing all our pledges of financial support for 2025), and Soup Kitchen. The Hanging of the Greens is on the 24th (come decorate with us), the town's Interfaith Thanksgiving Service at Pilgrim UCC is on the 26th, Plaid Friday, and the Holiday Stroll is on the 30th (we still need volunteers).
Oh yeah, and there's an election in there also.
I mention this because last Sunday I had several members say they wanted to attend an event we had, but had forgotten or didn't get the notice. Both missed events: the Prayer Walk and the Pollinator Garden project have been advertised in multiple ways. In worship both on the screen and spoken of during announcements, in the weekly blast, in the newsletter and on social media. They've been discussed at meetings and emails were sent out to remind those who said they were coming. Last Sunday there were FOUR choices of service opportunities in addition to worship.
So with an even-more packed November, it's going to be really important to pay close attention, update your calendars, and follow MSUMC communications and for the love of God and all that is holy, sign-up early for things so we don't have to spend time recruiting and extra angst. That goes for the fair, the H & B supper, and especially the HOLIDAY STROLL.
Let's get excited and grateful this month about all the ways we get to be the church with a heart in the heart of Nashua.
Blessings,
Pastor Kelly
