Dear Members and Friends of the Main Street UMC,
Last night our Safety Committee met and made the painful, but necessary, decision to close the church for the foreseeable future due to the Covid-19 virus threat. All church activities, programs, and public worship are cancelled. We will "live stream" worship on Sunday morning at 10:30am and the information follows as to how you can access the worship services either live or later if you so choose. You can still reach us by calling the church at 882-3361 or the parsonage at 594-8323. Please leave a message and you will receive a return call. Stay tuned to Facebook and our website for any future changes that may be announced. You can also send an e-mail to either the office at office@mainstreet-umc.org or to me personally at pastor@mainstreet-umc.org If there is an emergency please call me on my cell phone 207-577-7915. We will continue to send out our weekly "e-mail blast" as well with up-to-date information. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Let us be in prayer for one another and the world during this unprecedented time.
Worship Video
Video of the main Sunday Worship service is streamed live each week, and available on-demand on Facebook shortly after the service. You can use the Facebook app on a smartphone, or a web browser on a computer. "Like" our page and you will be notified when we go live each Sunday.
If you choose to not use a Facebook login, you can still access the live stream during the service time in the box to the right (you may need to refresh the page if you arrive early). Previous worship services are available by scrolling down through the postings.
Giving During This Uncertain Time
Although we are scaling back most of our church activities which will reduce our expenses during this time, we still have staff who will be working- cleaning the church thoroughly; providing office assistance from home; offering music for our "virtual" worship services; providing pastoral care remotely, etc.- so we will still be incurring expenses that will need to be covered as best we can. To the extent that you are able please maintain your financial pledge or give regularly.
