New city regulations require professional training for congregations who manage food prep at the church.  We are so grateful to David Quimby, who agreed to train members of our congregation for the ServSafe exam!  Thanks to his work and the work of his students (our church members who volunteered), we have 7 newly ServSafe certified kitchen workers.  Congratulations to Andrea W, Susan P, Lynn M, Phyllis A, Deborah L, Jerry H, and Mark M, all of whom took the exam and PASSED!  We are so excited to see how you'll lead our food ministries! Covid Response update:   The Covid Response Team met this week to discuss the church's Covid-prevention protocols.  Here's what you'll experience when you next come to the church: In order to protect the most vulnerable among us, especially those who cannot be vaccinated or who are immunocompromised, the church will continue to require masks indoors. SINGING will be phased back into worship. Occupancy limits will be removed, but a section of the sanctuary will still be reserved for those who wish to be physically distanced during worship. Adult classes will continue to be hybrid, in person, or remote, as best serves the participants of each group. These protocols will continue to evolve with local conditions and conference policies.     Charge Conference Announcement Sunday, March 27th is  UMCOR Sunday. UMCOR, the United Methodist Committee on Relief, is the relief and development organization for the denomination. It is a global organization that responds to disasters by working with local churches and trusted community groups. Because local churches are already familiar with the resources of their neighborhoods, they can often provide an assessment of needs and work with UMCOR to develop early relief and long-term response. As part of The United Methodist connection, we are part of UMCOR. We are part of living out Christ's good works in the world. Thank you.   The Worship Committee is pleased to offer lilies and tulips for sale for Easter (Sunday, April 17th). Both lilies ( 7 inch pot) and tulips (8 inch pot) will come in a pot with dark purple foil. These future leaders range from undergraduate freshmen to doctoral students. The scholarships are supported in part by United Methodist Student Day, World Communion Sunday, and Native American Sunday. Students who are members of The United Methodist Church may apply for a Fall 2022 GBHEM scholarship online between now and March 24, 2022, at https://www.gbhem.org/loans-scholarships/scholarships/ Registration open for 2022 Annual Conference  Registration is now open for the 2022 Annual Conference session, June 9-11. This is a hybrid session, and members can attend in person at the DoubleTree Hotel in Manchester, NH, or virtually. All voting members must register whether attending online or in person in order to be able to vote. The voting platform will be the same for both. The session will be livestreamed. Registration fee is $100. Register and pay in full by May 1 to get a $25 early bird discount. Registration will close May 18; all registrations must be fully paid at that time. There will be no in-person registration and registrations will not be accepted after May 18. February 2022 Finance Snapshot   General Fund (GF) Total GF Revenue Available 2/28/2022 YTD:           $91,045.71 Total GF Revenue Budgeted through 2/28/2022:   $78,315.48 Total GF Expenses Paid through 2/28/2022:            $71,150.23 Total GF Expenses Budgeted through 2/28/2022:  $79,654.22   Notes on General Fund Except for Conference mission shares (ministerial support and world and New England missions), we are current on payments due in February.  We paid one month of ministerial support and are a month behind.  New England and world missions were not paid.   Heart of Nashua 1 & 2 (GiF) & HON Cont. (Capital Campaign/Elevator, Connector, Renovations)  -  Balance due on HON Loan as of 2/28/2022:  $130,092.64 (Loan was $358,343.45) -  In February the monthly payment of $883 was paid.  HON Cont. funds on hand 2/28/2022 ($11,406.48) should allow some additional principal to be paid with the next payment.   -  Loan paid off date is 2/8/2039. -  Total Paid (including interest) Using HON 1, 2 & Continued as of 2/28/2022:  $1,908,466.89   Funding for the Future, 100 for $150 (Endowment) – Received this year as of 2/28/2022:  $940.   Anyone can be one of 100 people or families giving $150 (or any amount) each year to grow our endowment for the future of this church.   Parsonage Mortgage – As of 2/28/2022 we owed approximately $61,500 on the parsonage.  The parsonage mortgage will be paid off on 1/23/29.     Thank You  In February we received some pledges in full for the year.  These pledges help pay expenses as they become due.  We continue to use the snowplowing money donated in the fall, gifts for maintenance and for the Assoc. Pastor's salary.   Donations for utilities are spent as fast as they come in.  Thanks to all who support this congregation by their prayers, service, participation and financial donations.      Recent and Current Expenses Gas bills totaling $2172.81 for gas for the church and Wesley building will be paid in the next few days.   Payroll is processed twice a month.  Recent payments included piano tuning, fire signal monitoring and Stanley elevator contract.
