Beginning Sunday, September 10th at 10:30 AM. Watch Live Fill in the blank: "I'm glad to be part of MSUMC because ______."  I've been thinking about all the ways MSUMC makes a mark on my life and the life of the region. What kind of mark our ministries make in Nashua, what kind of blessing our building serves to others -- the 12-step groups, the community organizers and service organizations, the small groups like quartets and quilters, the tutors and shelters who use our facilities. The Housing Forum on Monday night was a beautiful example of how the ministries of this church to employ Pastor Kristy who has expertise and a passion for affordable housing, bears fruit in the community. It was powerful to hear public servants say they were appreciative of the stories that they hadn't heard before, and to learn about the housing concerns that they didn't know, and to become aware of the community needs and resources to address the problems.  Our worship series on Mark invites us into the costly discipleship of the gospel. To understand how we can and should make a mark with our living and our ministries. So . . .  what kind of mark are you grateful MSUMC is making? Fill in the blank.  Blessings, Rev Kelly Click Here for Sunday's Bulletin More Info on Service Here Sign up for the Memorial Table - Click Here Click HERE for Amazon List IF YOU CAN HELP PUT UP LAWN SIGNS (and remember where you put them so we can get them after the fair), please let the Office know. Watch Live Housing and Homelessness Take Center Stage this Weekend For years, the Nashua Area Interfaith Housing Justice work group and GSOP have been working toward more equitable housing outcomes for our region.  The work has included participation in the city's Master Planning process, advocacy for appropriate uses of city properties (such as the Nimco plant and the Elm Street Middle School), and supporting local ordinances that ensure greater housing fairness, such as the Housing Trust Fund and a mandatory Inclusionary Zoning ordinance. This weekend, clergy across the area will be preaching about housing justice as a preface to the Housing Justice Forum that will take place on October 2 (see below).  Pastor Kristy will preach here from the Gospel of Mark, Pastor Allison will preach on the heritage of inherited wealth at the Unitarian Universalist Church, and Rabbi Jon will preach about permanent homes in relation to their celebration of Sukkot.  Pastors from the Episcopal and Presbyterian churches, as well as others will also join the effort.  We hope that you will bring open hearts and minds to church this week.  And please come to the Housing Justice Forum on Monday. Blessings, Pastor Kristy Greater Nashua Interfaith Housing Justice & the Granite State Organizing Project present a Housing Forum with Candidates for the 2023 Nashua City Elections Monday, October 2, at 7:30pm At the Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashua, 58 Lowell Street We invite all candidates for Mayor and the Board of Alderman to join local faith leaders and community members for an evening of conversation about housing in Nashua.
