What a joy and privilege to welcome 3 new young people into the church and to baptize Mara this last Sunday.  I'm excited that those who are looking for an inclusive, multi-racial congregation who care about social witness and personal holiness continue to find their way to MSUMC.

Given the election, the Council of Bishops of The United Methodist Church, are speaking and acting with moral clarity, guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ and our commitment to justice and compassion for all.

"We call upon all United Methodists to exercise their faith and to pray, speak, and act for justice and peace.

Our baptismal vows call us "to resist evil, injustice, and oppression in whatever forms they present themselves." We therefore reject rhetoric, policies, and actions that demean or discriminate against any of God's children and will be vigilant in defending the rights of the vulnerable and speaking out against oppression.

To people of all generations, especially our young, who yearn for a more just and inclusive world, your vision and passion give us hope. We commit to working alongside you to build the beloved community that reflects God's kingdom on earth. In the days ahead, we will continue this vital work uninterrupted and with renewed vigor. And we commit ourselves to prayer for our political leaders around the globe."

Our calling to be the church of Jesus Christ remains and we're still here being formed into Christ's body for the world. Join us in our mission to welcome, nurture, disciple and serve this Sunday as we consecrate all your pledges for the new year.

Peace,

Pastor Kelly

Consecration Sunday, November 17th

Third Sunday Food pantry is this Sunday, November 17, from 2 to 4. If you or someone you know needs help with food, they should be at 2 Quincy Street between two and four. If you want to help, please be there at 1:30.

If you forgot to put out your "Scouting for Food" bag or didn't get one, please bring a bag of no perishable food to church and leave it in the Food Pantry bin in the lobby. The pantry crew will take it to the Nashua Soup Kitchen on Sunday.

The Missions team is once again collecting "Birthday in a Bag" donations to benefit the Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter this holiday season.  We are collecting new or gently used birthday bags, filled with what families can use for a birthday party (cake mix, frosting, candles, oil, table cloths, party favors, etc.).  We can help bring joy to families this holiday season with a birthday bag they can use while not having to worry about how they can afford to celebrate their loved one on that special day.

We are planning upcoming events for getting the church ready for the Nashua Holiday Stroll and the Christmas season.  All hands are needed to make sure this is a fun and safe set-up for all.  The trees are not heavy, but they are awkward and need a couple of people for each to make sure they are safe to carry.  Please plan ahead and join us for "Greening of the Church".

Believe it or not, it's already time to think about ordering Poinsettias for the Christmas Holiday.  Order forms are due in the Office by Monday, December 2nd to ensure we can get what is needed.  Order forms are located in the Connector Lobby and the price is the same as last year.  Please contact Jodi in the Office if you have any questions.

***No November Meeting***

We want to thank everyone who helped with the fair last weekend.  There were so many who baked, sewed, knit or crocheted, crafted in a variety of ways.  There were those who came in during the week before to set up or help prep food, those who worked the day of the fair, and who came in the week after to help put things away.  And thanks also to all those folks who came and shopped and ate.  It took a village and we are pleased to announce that our net profit is around $3100!   This is what we will use for establishing our budget for local and global missions in 2025.
